The Israel Geological Society Medal
The medal of the Geological Society of Israel is awarded annually to a member or several members of the Society who made a significant contribution to Israeli society in Earth science. Special consideration is given as a token of appreciation for public, educational and environmental activities, as well as popular scientific writing.

The Peretz Grader award for young researchers
The Peretz Grader award is awarded annually to a member of the Geological Society, under the age of 36, for a significant publication in the Earth sciences, published up to 2 years prior to presentation of the award.
The award committee:
The president of the Society will be the chair of the committee, and will decide on the winner in consultation with 1-3 additional members. All members must possess proven backgrounds in the fields of Earth science.

The Israel Geological Society Hall award for practical research and infrastructure
The award, named after Dr. John K. Hall, is provided biannually for infrastructural work in Earth Science and related fields of technology, which was published in an open-access and readily available database.

The committee comprises 3 members and includes the president of the Society as its chair. Members of the committee will be elected for a single year and their service in the committee may be extended by an additional 2 years.

The Prof. Rafael Freund award
The Prof. Rafael Freund award is awarded annually to a member, or several members of the Israel Geological Society as a token of appreciation for an excellent publication in the field of Earth science that was published within the last 3 years. The award may also be awarded for cumulative contributions in the form of several publications within the 5 years prior to the committee's decision.
The Committee:
The committee comprises 4 members with explicit research experience in the field of Earth science, and includes the president of the Society as its chair. Members of the committee are elected for a single year and their service in the committee may be extended by an additional 2 years. Award nominees will not serve as members of the committee.
